How SkinLit handles account, photo, and analysis data.

SkinLit is a cosmetic skin analysis and progress tracking app. This policy explains what we process, why we process it, how long we keep it, and how you can request deletion.

1. Data we process

  • Account data: sign-in provider, user identifier, and email or name when provided by Apple or Google sign-in.
  • Onboarding data: skin profile preferences selected in the app.
  • Photo data: selfies captured or selected for cosmetic AI analysis.
  • Analysis data: score, criteria, and summary generated from your selected or captured photo.
  • Subscription data: purchase and entitlement status provided by Apple StoreKit.

2. Why we process it

  • To authenticate your account and keep your session active.
  • To generate cosmetic-only skin analysis results from your uploaded selfie.
  • To restore analysis history and app state across sessions.
  • To manage referral rewards, subscription status, and local reminder notifications.

3. Photos, backend processing, and service providers

SkinLit uploads your selected selfie securely to SkinLit's backend to generate cosmetic analysis results. We may use service providers to help process uploaded images and return a score, criteria breakdown, and summary.

We require service providers that process personal data on our behalf to handle it under confidentiality, security, and data-protection obligations that are at least as protective as the standards we apply ourselves.

SkinLit is not a medical service and does not provide diagnosis or treatment advice.

4. Storage and retention

App profile and analysis history may be stored locally on your device and in SkinLit's backend so your account can restore results across sessions. Session and authentication state are stored securely using iOS Keychain.

We retain account, profile, and analysis data while your account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, resolve support issues, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated personal data within a commercially reasonable period unless we are required to retain certain records by law.

5. Tracking and notifications

SkinLit does not use third-party ad tracking or cross-app tracking.

SkinLit may send local reminder notifications on your device to help you finish onboarding and return for follow-up scans. Notification preferences are controlled through iOS Settings.

6. Your choices and deletion

  • You can stop using the app at any time.
  • You can stop uploading new selfies by not using the scan flow.
  • You can delete your account from within the app.
  • If you have an active subscription, Apple billing continues until you cancel it in App Store subscriptions.
  • You can manage camera, photo, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
  • You can contact us to request deletion, privacy help, or follow-up on a prior request.
